Inspired by the upcycling whiskey rack we decided to make a more refined and designer style of rack. The concept is the same although it was the choice of materials and how it is manufactured which was the key to this design process. Using Prime Oak, which is a personal favourite material due to its look whilst also being long lasting which mirrored the idea was for this product to relate to the origins of the design of a pallet which is strong and long lasting whilst being a modern and sleek design.

Using three curved uprights as the foundations of the design the rest of the product was built up around them, much like in a pallet. The rest of the design clicked into place leaving a simple but effective product which would look good in any house.

Using this design it was scaled down to create a small spice rack for my friend. Again oak was used to help create an aestetcally pleasing product which functioned well but was minimal in design so that it didn't distract from the rest of the room.
